The medieval village of Lucignano (AR) is preparing to host the second edition of the music festival

From 22 to 24 July 2022, the great classical music will return to Valdichiana with the second edition of the Lucignano Music Festival, an international celebration of classical music organized by Quinta Stagione APS and curated by the artistic director Irene Abrigo. The initiative will take place this year too in the splendid setting of the medieval village of Lucignano, elected one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and winner of the Touring Club Orange Flag.
The program of the second edition, entitled Favole (Fairy Tales), will transport the public into the world of fantasy, beauty and childhood memories: from the magic of Franz Schubert and Robert Schumann, alternated with pieces by contemporary composers, to the celebration of youth with the Fiesole Music School, then continuing with the great initiatory journey of Pinocchio and the wine party with Bacchus & Arianna. “Souvenir de Florence” by Tchaikowsky will close the Festival, a legendary piece witnessing the link between Russian culture and the city of Florence, by a composer who for all his life fought against discrimination and gender violence.

For the second edition, explains the artistic director Irene Abrigo, we wanted to focus even more on the city of Lucignano, also involving its entrepreneurial and associative excellence in the promotion of the territory and its culture. The collaborations with the Azienda Agricola Fabbriche Palma and the Fiesole Music School - as well as the support of the CR Firenze Foundation, Pro Helvetia and Unicoop Firenze - are the starting point for creating a network of cooperation in the years to come, supporting artistic events of exceptional quality.
